Oh, thank you Baby Jesus for maternity leggings.
True to the tradition..First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby in a baby carriage. I am 4 months pregnant with a little girl! Having a fine time! Especially now that I have been able to move from my “boy fit/lazy day/couch sitting jeans” that were getting too tight (egads) into my first pair of maternity leggings.
Someone tell me WHY we torture our non-pregnant bodies with non-maternity leggings (or any non-maternity pants, really..Yes, I said that and went there). They changed my life. And, I can’t say that too many times. It feels great to let it all hang out, while I am actually letting it all hang in. Trans..for..ma..tive. I no longer feel I could snap my husbands head off at the neck simply because my pants are too tight.
*Watch now, he’ll come home with 14 pairs of maternity leggings.
It’s all in the plan. Mwahahaha.
So, clearly, because it’s me.. I have been slightly obsessed with what I am going to wear while I grow and contort and bust out (let’s be honest, there is lots of busting out). And, I am happy to report that there are actual clothes for pregs that aren’t horrific and totally expensive. Top Shop, H&M, Old Navy, ASOS… And, also happy to report that not everything is empire waist. YAY!
Check this out:
And this, also from ASOS:
These from H&M look cute too.. How cute and soft..
I went ahead and got this tee-shirt the other day. Super soft and comfy and not offensively maternity frump:
Anyway, not SO SO bad. Right? Typically, I am not someone that likes to wear body-con stuff, but I am finding that now that I am pregnant, the tighter stuff looks better (gasp!). I naively thought, a preggo could just wear larger sizes in some things and be ok and that is just not the case at all. I mean, stuff hangs over your belly and you end up just looking sloppy, kinda like that fat guy at the County Fair eating a turkey leg. You know the one, the guy that has no idea his stomach is hanging out the bottom of his shirt.
I am having so much fun with this and learning so much with every inch. Can’t wait to apply all of this info to the work I do with my clients! Life – ain’t it fun?!
